New Tires

There is nothing like a new set of tires. It is one of few services at an auto repair shop where you can really see and feel the investment you've made. As a new tire dealer and installer we are here to help you find the right tire at the right price and get back to smooth, safe driving.

How do you know when you need new tires- try the penny test! ake a penny and place it between the tire tread blocks with Lincoln’s head upside down and facing you. If Lincoln's head is buried, your tires still have more than 2/32" of tread. Your tires need to be replaced if the head is visible.

2

Rotation/Balancing

Tire rotation is suggested every 5,000 miles. This is important to prolong the life of your tire by distributing the tire tire over. You'll enjoy increase fuel economy, improved tire performance and a smoother ride. Balancing is recommend as often and should be performed accordding to the manufacture's recommendation. However, if you notice a vibration when driving that gets progressively worse as your speed increases, you should schedule an appointment to have them rebalanced.

TPMS

Properly inflated tires are critical to driving stability, traction, steering, and braking.  If your Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light is on despite healthy tires at the proper pressure you probably have a defective sensor and need to have it replaced. A TPMS sensor can fail for a variety of reasons that range from an impact or collision to battery failure. We can determine which sensor has failed, have it replaced, and get you back on the road in no time!

5 Signs You Need New Tires

Tires are fundamental for road grip and water dispersal, critical for preventing hydroplaning. Regular tread and pressure checks are crucial to gauge tire health and determine replacement needs.

  1. Flush Tread Wear Bars: Monitor tread wear bars, small elevated rubber bits amid tread blocks. As they align with the tread's surface, it's time for tire replacement.

  2. Cracked Rubber: Sunlight, heat, and de-icing chemicals can cause rubber to crack, leading to air loss and eventual failure.

  3. Uneven Tread Wear: Various factors like misalignment, improper pressure, lack of rotation, or worn steering and suspension components can cause uneven wear. Regular rotations every 5,000 miles can extend tire life.

  4. Tire Pressure Irregularities: Check tire pressure monthly, as all tires deflate over time. Persistent air loss or sudden deflation may necessitate tire repair or replacement.

  5. Sidewall Bulges: Impact with obstacles like curbs or potholes can create sidewall bulges, risking rupture. Prompt inspection and replacement are essential if bulges are detected.

Additional Checks:

  • Vibrations or thumping while driving may signal tire balance issues or suspension problems, necessitating professional inspection.

  • Simple Tread Checks:

    • Tread Wear Bars: Assess tread depth by examining these raised rubber bars. Flush alignment indicates tire wear.

    • Penny Test: Place a penny in a tread groove with Lincoln's head facing down. If his head is fully visible, tire replacement is needed. Adequate tread depth ensures safety.
